#GroveLife
#GroveLife is a contemporary, interior renovation by Sarah Truscott Architect of an original Michael Dysart designed Wybalena Grove townhouse in the Canberra suburb of Cook.
These architecturally designed townhouses, dating from the 1970s, have excellent northern light and prospect with connection to surrounding native bushlands. The owners were very keen to enhance this light and connection with a more open floor plan in the upper living areas.
Particular care was given to reinforcing the original aesthetic of these modest, architecturally designed townhouses, whilst using natural materials that draw on the immediate bushland setting. Attention to detail with cabinetry handles and tiles resembling those in the original interior palette, plus the white cabinets and timber benchtop keeps the connection alive.

A note from the owners:
“Our new kitchen simply would not have happened without Sarah. It was made easy with Sarah patiently guiding us through the architectural process, as well as choosing lovely fixtures and fittings. Her modern design blends seamlessly with the 1970s heritage of our home, and opens up our kitchen and living room into a really functional and beautiful space.”
